Role Overview

The Onboarding Operations team is vital to Wolt’s success, uniting expert subteams to ensure every merchant is properly prepared for launch. The Data Validation team serves as a critical checkpoint between Sales and Merchant Onboarding, verifying all business details, legal documents, and requisite data to guarantee compliance before a restaurant goes live.

As a Data Validation Specialist, you will be responsible for compliance assurance for key accounts and complex setups within the German market. This role bridges Sales and Onboarding by ensuring business information submitted is precise and that onboarding teams receive fully vetted partners ready for seamless integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine, confirm, and approve all merchant data and legal paperwork submitted by Sales, ensuring compliance before transferring partners to the Onboarding team.
• Manage data validations for priority partners, including enterprise and intricate business structures that demand specialized compliance reviews.
• Collaborate closely within Onboarding Operations to resolve data mismatches, enabling smooth handoffs from Sales to Onboarding.
• Function as the authority on German merchant documentation, business regulations, and Wolt’s internal verification standards.
• Detect recurring errors or inefficiencies in the handover process and implement workflow improvements to maintain efficient operations.
• Oversee compliance monitoring by tracking cases and pipelines using Monday.com along with Wolt’s internal tools to minimize errors.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to new Data Validation team members, maintain comprehensive team documentation, and disseminate best practices across the Onboarding Operations department.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Between 1 to 3 years in merchant compliance, quality assurance, or back-office roles, preferably within fast-evolving tech or e-commerce contexts.
• Compliance Expertise: Strong familiarity with German commercial documentation, trade registers, and typical merchant verification requirements.
• Detail & Solution Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail coupled with a pragmatic approach to troubleshooting and resolving data issues without causing delays.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to uphold stringent quality checks while maintaining positive cooperation with internal teams and external merchants.
• Process Improvement: Comfortable managing operational workflows in platforms like Monday.com or customer relationship management systems, with a continuous improvement perspective.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken German (C1 level) and good professional command of English.
