Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Research & Knowledge Specialist (w/m/d) to join our team at our Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, or Munich offices, with the option of full- or part-time employment. This role is part of a global Knowledge & Research team, offering a multifaceted and engaging position within an international environment. Collaboration with colleagues across practice groups and Business Services teams is key, contributing significantly to the provision and enhancement of knowledge, research services, and innovative technologies within the firm.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage, procure, and advance print and online research resources for German offices, including books, journals, databases, and other information sources.
- Conduct legal and business-related research for lawyers and Business Services teams utilizing modern research and information systems.
- Monitor trends in AI-supported research and knowledge systems; provide guidance and training to lawyers on the effective and responsible use of these technologies.
- Participate in the selection, piloting, implementation, and ongoing development of innovative knowledge, research, and AI solutions, collaborating closely with the global Knowledge & Research team.
- Oversee the planning and monitoring of the annual Knowledge & Learning budget for Germany.
- Create and analyse usage and management reports to assess and optimize information and database offerings.
- Manage subscriptions, licenses, contract renewals, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Maintain and enhance content on research and knowledge platforms, supporting global knowledge management initiatives.
- Actively promote and raise awareness of research and knowledge offerings via training, presentations, and regular engagement with practice groups and Business Services teams.
- Coordinate and maintain physical library collections at German sites including Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Munich, involving occasional inter-site travel.

Candidate Profile
- Completed studies in library, information, or knowledge management, or equivalent qualification, with relevant work experience ideally in professional services or international legal practice.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse groups.
- Interest in new technologies, particularly AI-enhanced research, knowledge management, and productivity tools.
- Independent, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Organizational talent, service orientation, and strong execution capability.
- Confidence and proficiency with modern office software, databases, and digital information resources.
