About the Role
The Regional Accountant will handle the financial management responsibilities across specified cocoa-buying districts in Ghana. This person will provide crucial support to the Regional Manager by ensuring precise financial documentation, efficient cash flow handling, strict adherence to company policies, and maintenance of robust internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and evaluate financial reports at district and regional levels, including profit and loss statements and overhead cost analyses.
- Oversee cash collections, payments, account reconciliations, and bank account evaluations.
- Assist in risk assessments and maintain internal control measures, while supporting compliance and audit activities.
- Track cocoa dispatch activities, inventory movements, port-related expenses, losses, and related operational costs.
- Perform field audits, stock verification, and documentation checks to ensure financial data integrity.
- Review and validate Franchise Holder financial records and input accuracy within systems such as EMPOWER and SAP.
- Provide prompt reporting and assist in enforcing recommendations arising from audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related discipline.
- At least 3 to 5 years in finance, accounting, auditing, or comparable functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial report preparation.
- Experience working with accounting software such as SAP or SAGE is advantageous.
- Prior audit experience; familiarity with cocoa or agricultural sector operations is preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, conduct field visits, and operate effectively within rural settings.
