Role Overview
The R&D Executive will spearhead and support brand-focused projects within the R&D Product Development & Management (PDM) team, driving progress from conception through to product launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply formulation expertise and technical knowledge to develop and evaluate new as well as existing products and technologies aligned with consumer needs and brand goals.
- Lead and contribute to multiple projects as the R&D representative throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct claim substantiation activities supporting new product and claims development.
- Comprehend and implement relevant SOPs and ISO protocols for data generation necessary for product registration, maintaining precise laboratory records and adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to prioritize and manage the project portfolio effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges promptly to prevent project delays.
- Possess knowledge of fundamental laboratory bench techniques, with an interest or background in chemistry, surfactants, or related scientific areas.
- Interpret laboratory test results and perform performance and comparative analyses of competitive products.
- Manage supply inventory and place orders as required to maintain efficient laboratory operations.
- Integrate Category Quality standards into project plans ensuring team compliance.
- Promote a 'Right First Time' quality mindset by following documented procedures and practicing good documentation habits.
- Maintain continuous awareness and accountability for workplace safety, health, and environmental standards aiming for a safe and productive work environment.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Science, Engineering, or Pharmacy.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Chemistry from a reputed institution.
- Have 3 to 5 years of robust experience in formulation with deep understanding of chemical interactions within raw materials.
- Familiarity with chemistry related to surfactants, detergents, acids, bleach, and basic microbiological efficacy testing methods supporting product and claims development.
- Proven track record delivering successful technical projects in the FMCG sector.
- Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams including Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and R&D.
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Effective oral communication skills for exchanging ideas within diverse project teams and supervisors.
- Accurate written communication skills for data recording and concise reporting.
- Capacity to manage multiple project deadlines efficiently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
