Python + Generative AI Engineer

Role overview

Infosys is looking for a Python-focused engineer who can build and support Generative AI solutions for product and service use cases. The role involves writing dependable, maintainable code and turning GenAI ideas into working end-to-end workflows.

What you will do

• Create and maintain Python components that power Generative AI use cases, with an emphasis on readability, testability, and long-term maintainability.
• Design full AI pipelines covering data preparation, prompt crafting, orchestration, and application integration.
• Connect GenAI capabilities to products and services through APIs and modular services while keeping performance and reliability in focus.
• Set up methods to assess GenAI output quality, safety, and consistency, then improve solutions using measurable outcomes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to clarify needs, define success measures, and deliver improvements in small, steady iterations.
• Investigate issues in AI workflows and Python services, and tune them for lower latency, better scale, and stable operations.
• Prepare technical documentation, take part in code reviews, and follow engineering best practices to improve team efficiency and shared understanding.

Qualifications

• A B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, or a similar degree in a relevant discipline.
• Between 3 and 5 years of practical experience developing solutions in Python.
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI concepts and experience building GenAI-based features or proofs of concept.
• Strong analytical ability, solid debugging skills, and the discipline to deliver quality work within deadlines.
• Comfort working in a team setting and explaining technical ideas clearly to different stakeholders.

Location

This position is based in Bengaluru East, Karnataka, India and follows an onsite work model.
