Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of a large-scale roadworks project ensuring safety, efficiency, and commercial success.
- Oversee daily project operations including site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and adherence to programme timelines.
- Manage project planning, sequencing, monitoring progress, and comprehensive reporting.
- Guarantee compliance with technical drawings, specifications, quality benchmarks, and client expectations.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to control costs, manage variations, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
- Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Organize and lead project meetings, progress reviews, and communications with senior management.
- Identify project risks, resolve technical and operational challenges, and maintain momentum throughout all delivery phases.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a civil engineering qualification (mandatory).
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale roadwork projects.
- Experience delivering projects within Ireland or the UK is essential.
- Strong background with main contractors in civil engineering, roads, infrastructure, or heavy civil engineering sectors.
- Excellent commercial insight with skills in programme management, cost control, risk management, and project performance evaluation.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities managing site teams, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards in active civil engineering environments.
- Strong communication, organizational, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Pragmatic and solutions-driven approach with the ability to make decisive decisions under pressure.
- Possession of a full, clean Irish driving licence.
Experience with roads, transport infrastructure, drainage, utilities, earthworks, structures, traffic management, and live road environments is highly valued.
