About Thrive Ministry
Thrive is a nonprofit Christian organization located in west Denver, Colorado. Its mission centers on supporting women serving overseas through spiritual resources, transformative retreats, virtual events, one-on-one mentorship, and educational outreach to churches and agencies, fostering renewal as they engage in Kingdom work.
Position Overview
The Program Director, reporting to the COO, provides strategic and operational leadership over Thrive’s program portfolio including Retreats & Virtual Gatherings, Alongside, and Connection initiatives. This role collaborates closely with the CEO to shape and execute program strategies that align with Thrive’s mission, focusing initially on leading retreat ministry and progressively shifting towards broader program leadership, innovation, evaluation, and team growth.
The position is based in Lakewood, CO with hybrid work options and requires domestic and international travel for retreat leadership and strategic gatherings. Remote employees within the US must attend onsite team meetings approximately four times annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire program portfolio ensuring alignment with organizational mission and strategy.
- Lead annual retreats and virtual events effectively.
- Supervise and support program coordinators and spearhead volunteer engagement efforts.
- Collaborate with the CEO to assess current programs and develop new initiatives based on participant feedback and research.
- Establish systems and processes to ensure excellent program delivery.
- Contribute to organizational strategic planning and set future program directions.
Measures of Success in First Year
- Successfully lead three retreats and one virtual gathering.
- Cultivate strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and partners.
- Manage a smooth transition of retreat leadership from the outgoing coordinator.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements for Thrive’s programs.
- Present strategic recommendations for future program development.
- Become the principal leader integrating Thrive’s portfolio of programs.

Required Qualifications
- Experience directing complex programs, events, or initiatives.
- Strong project management and organizational leadership abilities.
- Proven ability to lead both staff and volunteers.
- Track record of navigating organizational change successfully.
- Competent in budget oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally.
- Alignment with Thrive’s mission and Statement of Faith.
