Production Worker - Feeder Folder

About the Role

As a Feeder/Folder at Alsco Uniforms, your main responsibility will be to handle textiles by sorting, inspecting, grading, and preparing them for finishing processes such as folding by hand or feeding into ironers or folding machines. You will also be involved in other tasks within the production area as required.

Core Responsibilities

• Pick textiles from carts or bins, then sort and assess them based on quality criteria.
• Manually fold, assemble, and package various textile types and sizes.
• Load textiles of different kinds and sizes into ironers or folding machinery.
• Place finished items onto conveyors or carts, as well as unloading slings of textiles onto work tables.
• Transport loaded or empty carts and bins throughout the production space.
• Handle textiles following specific type requirements and written packing guidelines.
• Consistently achieve required efficiency and adhere to all safety standards.
• Follow supervisory instructions and maintain a tidy and organized work area.
• Be prepared to assist in other production roles as necessary.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Ability to recognize colors, sizes; and accurately count and sort items.
• Skill to inspect and grade products effectively.
• Ability to understand and follow written packing instructions clearly.
• Capable of following verbal directions from supervision.
• Physically able to perform standing, walking, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and stooping for the duration of the shift.

Working Environment

• Work takes place in a typical industrial laundry production area, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, odors, humidity, as well as lint and dust.
• No travel is required for this position.

Compensation

The position offers an hourly wage of $18.95.
