About the Role
The role of Production Engineer-Electrical focuses on enhancing electrical manufacturing operations to ensure superior product quality and foster continuous optimization within production environments. This role blends technical troubleshooting, process innovation, and cross-departmental collaboration to deliver production excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and introduce optimized manufacturing workflows, procedures, and facility layouts for new and existing electrical products.
- Identify, diagnose, and fix electrical production challenges through root cause analysis and enact corrective and preventive measures.
- Select and validate electrical parts, tools, and equipment essential for production lines.
- Create, update, and manage comprehensive electrical assembly guides, testing protocols, and quality assurance documentation.
- Partner with R&D, design engineering, and quality teams to confirm new products can be manufactured reliably and transferred smoothly to production.
- Drive process improvements by implementing automation, error-proofing techniques like Poka-Yoke, and lean manufacturing waste reduction strategies.
- Perform time and process capability studies to enhance efficiency and minimize production cycle durations.
- Educate production staff on new technologies, equipment, and quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with safety norms, quality systems such as ISO, and internal company regulations.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of equipment upkeep, including calibration and preventive maintenance.
- Adhere to all relevant internal and external regulations and guidelines.
- Embody core company values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for personal actions while supporting colleagues and company objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possesses three to five years of electrical manufacturing or production engineering experience, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Deep knowledge of electrical circuits, components, and systems.
- Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical drawings.
- Experienced in diverse manufacturing techniques including soldering, wire harness assembly, PCB assembly, and electrical testing.
- Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate within teams.
- Proficient in CAD software like AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical, plus Microsoft Office tools.
- Capable of working autonomously and juggling multiple projects efficiently.
- Familiarity with applicable industry safety and quality standards is advantageous.
