Job Purpose

The role involves overseeing and optimizing automated production systems by integrating mechanical, automation, electrical controls, instrumentation, and production technologies to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain uninterrupted functioning of automated production lines.
  • Supervise equipment such as conveyors, shredders, compressors, ducting systems, dust collection, and utilities.
  • Operate and monitor control systems including PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and VFD.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation faults.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), productivity, throughput, and machine usage.
  • Lead initiatives for line balancing and eliminating production bottlenecks.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and automation upgrades.
  • Drive productivity improvements, energy conservation, and cost optimization projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and operational standards.

Technical Expertise Required

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors, interlocked conveyor systems, shredders, material handling equipment.
  • Proficiency with air compressors, pneumatic systems, dust collection and extraction, industrial ducting.
  • Familiarity with gearboxes, bearings, couplings, drives, and production line synchronization.
  • Experience with automation and controls: PLC operation and troubleshooting, DCS, SCADA, HMI, VFDs, sensors, switches, safety interlocks, emergency stops, MCCs, control panels, machine communication, and line integration.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing, packaging, material handling, plastics, FMCG, food processing, process industries, or automotive components.
  • Expertise in integrating mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and RCA abilities.
