Role Overview

The Production Coordinator acts as a vital link within SpaceX's launch and manufacturing teams. This position supports all leadership related to production and launch operations to guarantee timely delivery of parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate inventory requests corresponding to production work orders and replacement component needs.
• Oversee production timelines by coordinating planning and managing shortages in the build process.
• Ensure parts are stored and handled according to SpaceX quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to release build work orders efficiently.
• Verify and reconcile quantities on work order bills of materials.
• Maintain data accuracy within company computer systems, addressing errors that could disrupt demand or scheduling.
• Inspect received materials for correctness, damage, quantity, part numbers, and revisions before releasing them to production.
• Engage with production stakeholders to manage priorities and scheduling requirements.
• Provide assistance to materials management leadership and project teams by updating on action items.
• Communicate status of parts and estimated completion dates to leadership as needed.
• Support production teams with corrective action procedures when required.
• Enhance logistics by innovatively staging workflows.
• Conduct de-kitting operations and manage return-to-stock activities.
• Contribute to productivity and process improvement efforts.

Basic Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in supply chain, inventory management, or manufacturing.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Familiarity with MRP/ERP software such as SAP or Oracle.
• Associate degree in business or technology-related studies.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing sectors.
• Skill in operating forklifts.
• Certification from APICS is advantageous.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of Air Force background check specific to Cape Canaveral.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Capability to work at heights.
• Willingness to work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, or rain.
• Tolerance to environments with fumes, odors, and noise exposure.
• Availability and willingness to operate machinery like forklifts and loaders as needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends depending on operational demands.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of time, including visits to military and government locations.
