About the Role
A leading commercial team focused on delivering large-scale, critical building projects is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager. This position is tailored for candidates with extensive Senior Quantity Surveying backgrounds who aspire to specialize in procurement, supply chain management, and subcontract package procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute procurement strategies across various projects.
- Oversee the procurement process of subcontract packages from initial enquiry through contract award.
- Prepare tender documents and assess subcontractor proposals.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Align procurement tasks with project budgets and timelines effectively.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, pre-construction, and project delivery teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Establish and nurture robust relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Keep abreast of market trends to identify cost-saving and value engineering opportunities.
- Assist with contract administration and procurement-related reporting requirements.
- Ensure all procurement practices comply with company policies and contractual obligations.
Requirements
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong focus on procurement.
- Demonstrable experience managing subcontract package procurement for major construction projects.
- In-depth commercial and contract knowledge.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Capacity to oversee multiple procurement packages at once with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and commercial management software tools.
