Role Overview
The Plastics Technician Die Setter – Blowmoulding plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless manufacturing by executing equipment setup, maintaining product quality, supporting safety standards, enhancing operational processes, training team members, and complying with environmental and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Change dies and moulds and configure blowmoulding machinery to optimize machine uptime, efficiency, and output.
- Conduct initial startup inspections and continuous quality monitoring to ensure products conform to specifications, adjusting processes as necessary.
- Diagnose and resolve machine, tooling, and process problems and perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and sustain equipment reliability.
- Improve material utilization, cycle efficiencies, and overall manufacturing workflows to decrease waste and promote continual improvement.
- Keep accurate production records including process parameters, quality audit sheets, adjustments, and output data.
- Foster a safe and compliant work environment by instructing operators, encouraging safe practices, maintaining cleanliness, and cooperating with various teams including Operations, Engineering, and Quality.

Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three years' experience as a Plastics Technician, Die Setter, or similar role specifically in Blowmoulding manufacturing.
- A relevant trade certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong mechanical skills with proven problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with quality assurance protocols and production operations.
- Hands-on experience in operating and tuning Blowmoulding equipment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Additional Information
- Position based at our Christchurch facility.
- This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 40 hours weekly.
- Hourly pay scale ranges from $35.00 to $43.00, with 1.5 times rate for overtime.
- Applicants should be flexible to work additional shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
