Role overview

This position focuses on scheduling support for a range of infrastructure projects. The planner/scheduler will help maintain programme integrity, review contractor schedules, assess progress, and provide advice on delivery timelines for complex, multi-stage construction work.

Key duties

• Deliver scheduling support across a varied portfolio of infrastructure projects.
• Review contractor programmes before baseline approval to ensure they meet contractual obligations and accepted scheduling standards.
• Produce progress update reports and call out important schedule risks and possible opportunities for clients.
• Suggest recovery actions and build acceleration programmes when projects face significant delay.
• Coordinate meetings with multiple client-side stakeholders to capture their inputs and deliverables, then develop an Integrated Master Works Programme linked to the main contractor’s plan.
• Advise clients throughout the project lifecycle on the most efficient timelines for complex, staged construction delivery.

What the employer is looking for

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Building, or Project Management.
• At least 5 years of experience working as a scheduler or planner on infrastructure projects.
• Previous on-site experience in construction is preferred.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end construction and project delivery processes.
• Advanced working ability in P6/Primavera and MS Project; experience with Asta or similar planning tools is an advantage.
• Good command of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related office software.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Must have valid working rights in New Zealand.
