Planner

Job summary

This role acts as the key contact for customers on demand planning and shipment updates. The planner is expected to build workable operational plans, stay accountable for their execution, support customer satisfaction, reduce Jabil’s exposure to risk, and keep improving planning performance metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the business unit and customer to create a joint demand plan by following the demand management process.
• Build the master schedule using resource analysis, including material sizing and capacity sizing.
• Enter the master schedule into Jabil’s ERP platform.
• Prepare and update a practical production plan, working closely with operations to ensure smooth execution.
• Develop revenue forecasts, track actual results, and trigger corrective actions and recovery plans when revenue targets may be missed.
• Track planning KPIs and support ongoing process improvement.
• Follow all company security procedures and road rules.
• Handle additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job requirements

• Strong working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
• 1 to 2 years of materials-related experience.
• Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with Jabil software tools.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
• Comfortable speaking effectively to customers and employees, with strong communication skills.
• Able to apply common-sense judgment to instructions in written, spoken, or diagram form.
• Capable of resolving issues that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Able to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Can apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Strong ability to identify logistics requirements and design strategies that support business goals and targets.

Education and experience

A bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience is required, or a master’s degree with no prior experience. An equivalent mix of education, training, and experience may also be considered.
