About the Role
Join Rentokil Pest Control North America, a leader in global pest management services operating in over 90 countries. As a Pest Technician, you will deliver industry-leading pest control solutions to residential customers. Your duties will include inspecting properties to spot pest problems, identifying pest types, applying appropriate treatments like pesticides or traps, and advising customers on prevention strategies.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of residential properties to detect pest signs, damage, and entry points.
- Use approved pest control products such as chemicals, baits, and traps safely and effectively.
- Educate clients on pest prevention measures and help them maintain pest-free environments.
- Build rapport with customers, manage appointments, assist with sales to current clients, and help attract new customers.
- Maintain pest control equipment by ensuring it is stocked and in good condition.
- Comply with all relevant local, state, and federal pest control and safety regulations.
- Operate company service vehicles safely; routine vehicle maintenance is provided.
- Work in confined spaces like basements, attics, crawl spaces, and narrow aisles.
- Handle working conditions involving mechanical equipment, animals, insects, chemicals, heights, scaffolding, fumes, and dust, with full safety training provided.
- Perform physically demanding activities including climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment, including OSHA-compliant respirators.
Requirements
- Must have a clean-shaven face to ensure respirator safety.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience and/or training.
- Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
- Licenses or certifications required by law are covered by the employer.
- Willingness to work Monday to Friday and weekends as needed.
- Open to learning all aspects of pest control.
- Good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills necessary for following product mixing instructions.
- Preferred: experience in customer-facing roles.
