Role Overview

The Performance Analyst will support operational and project-related data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring initiatives to enhance service delivery and decision-making at Metrolinx. The role involves data collection, quality assurance, report creation, operational trend analysis, and forecasting to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and KPI achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with IT and relevant parties to enhance data value through improved data sources, technology, and business intelligence tools.
  • Carry out assigned duties and participate in relevant meetings and presentations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Business Administration, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least two years of progressive experience in quantitative data analysis, dashboard/report development, and data tracking.
  • Minimum two years experience automating data workflows and enhancing reporting through visualizations and process improvements.
  • Familiarity with transit operations planning, analysis, and monitoring is an advantage.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikSense.
  • Strong skills in analyzing operational and project processes to identify issues and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills ability to create management reports.
  • Ability to translate business logic into data processing scripts using DAX, R, SQL, Python, or Power Query.
  • Knowledge of information systems for data extraction, visualization, and presentation tailored to audience needs.
  • Understanding of measuring customer experience and operational performance and the ability to convert feedback and data into actionable strategies.
