About the Role
PPC Limited, a specialized systems integrator dedicated to delivering innovative technical and operational solutions, seeks a Payroll Officer to efficiently manage payroll processing and compliance. This role ensures timely salary payments, bonus calculations, and statutory deductions, acting as a critical bridge between HR and Finance departments while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer payroll processing monthly for various employee categories including full-time, part-time, and contract staff. Reconcile attendance, overtime, and leave data to ensure accuracy and distribute payslips accordingly.
- Compute and guarantee prompt remittance of mandatory statutory deductions such as PAYE, Pension, NHF, and NSITF to appropriate government agencies. Assist with annual tax filings and keep abreast of changes in labor and tax legislation.
- Maintain accurate and updated payroll records, salary information, and deduction schedules within payroll or HRIS software. Collaborate with HR on employment changes including onboarding, terminations, promotions, and salary modifications.
- Generate comprehensive payroll reports on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis for finance and management review. Reconcile entries with the general ledger, provide support during audits, and address employee payroll-related queries efficiently.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or similar fields.
- Between 2 to 4 years of practical experience in payroll processing, including proficiency in payroll software.
- Proven knowledge in managing statutory remittances such as PAYE, pension contributions, and NHF, along with experience reconciling payroll data with general ledger accounts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of professional certifications in human resources, accounting, or payroll management such as CIPM, ICAN, ACCA, or SHRM is advantageous.
