Role overview

This position sits at the heart of a smooth employee experience. As Payroll Manager:in, you will make sure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in line with legal requirements. You will work closely with People & Culture (HR), Finance, external payroll providers, and colleagues across several countries. The role calls for someone who enjoys structure, precision, numbers, and solving complex payroll-related issues.

The job is based in Munich or Salzburg.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact for payroll, tax, and employment-law questions.
  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll delivery for Germany, Austria, Sweden, and Denmark together with external payroll partners.
  • Prepare hiring documents and ensure all registrations and deregistrations are completed within the required deadlines.
  • Make sure all payroll inputs are complete, correct, and submitted on time.
  • Handle payroll-tax matters and support compliance with legal obligations.
  • Support payroll audits and serve as the key contact for authorities and auditors.
  • Work closely with Finance, prepare payroll reports, and assist with budget planning and variance analysis.
  • Own clean compliance reporting for all payroll-related data.
  • Spot improvement opportunities and keep enhancing payroll processes.

Required profile

  • Practical knowledge of payroll processing and salary administration.
  • Solid understanding of payroll-tax topics, especially in Germany or Austria.
  • Experience working with external payroll service providers.
  • A well-organized and detail-oriented approach with high quality standards.
