Job description
Role Overview
Under general supervision, the Payroll Manager oversees the payroll operations for either the County’s payroll system or the Westchester Medical Center’s payroll services. This position holds accountability for accurate and prompt payroll processing while ensuring alignment with applicable tax regulations, garnishment protocols, and related compliance mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Payroll Department ensuring all payroll activities are carried out accurately and on time.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state tax laws and interventions such as garnishment procedures.
- For Medical Center assignments, act as primary liaison between the Medical Center and the third-party payroll service provider, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
- Supervise payroll staff and provide necessary direction and oversight.
- Perform additional payroll-related duties as required to support organizational needs.
