Role Overview
The Payroll Administrator is an integral part of the global payroll team, responsible for supporting the full payroll cycle and managing crucial payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with payroll vendors to execute end-to-end payroll processing for US and Canadian employees.
- Assume responsibility for designated payroll duties such as generating routine payroll reports for management.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with North American payroll service providers including ADP and G&A, serving as the primary contact for resolving issues and streamlining processes.
- Manage and respond to general payroll inquiries received through the payroll inbox.
- Assist with payroll audits on quarterly and annual bases across North American entities and vendors.
- Support year-end payroll functions including preparation and distribution of W-2 and T4 documents.
- Administer employee benefits and deductions including 401(k), healthcare plans, and other perks.
- Partner with the team to identify and implement process enhancements aimed at boosting payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with HR to ensure accurate payroll input based on employee lifecycle changes such as hires, terminations, and salary updates, complying with company policies and legal requirements.
- Serve as a vital liaison among HR, Finance, and external payroll partners to maintain compliant and seamless payroll operations.
Requirements
- A graduate degree or equivalent educational background suitable for an early-career position.
- Professional, self-driven attitude with effective communication capabilities.
- Strong analytical proficiency and competency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work cooperatively with payroll, HR, finance teams, and business stakeholders.
- Preferable but not mandatory: familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, G&A, Workday, or OysterHR.
- Basic knowledge of US and Canadian payroll and tax systems is advantageous.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role falls between $68,000 and $75,000 annually, subject to various factors including experience, qualifications, responsibilities, and organizational requirements. This range represents a portion of the overall compensation package.
