Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Packaging Operator to become a vital part of our team at Three Taverns Craft Brewery. Reporting directly to the Packaging Manager, you will oversee all packaging-related activities ensuring operational excellence, cleanliness, and quality compliance in the packaging and warehouse departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate packaging machinery efficiently and safely, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct quality control inspections on finished products and bright beer tanks, accurately recording findings.
- Report production quantities and outcomes with precision.
- Manage all stages of bottling, canning, and kegging lines from setup to cleanup and shutdown.
- Operate forklifts to support packaging processes.
- Maintain equipment and workspace cleanliness and sanitation.
- Perform preventative maintenance on packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Track raw materials throughout packaging runs.
- Participate in cross-training efforts among team members.
- Communicate effectively across departments and contribute positively to workflow continuity.
- Show eagerness to learn and assist in cellaring, yeast handling, filtering, and cleaning operations.
- Meet departmental targets related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control.
- Engage in beer tasting panel activities as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 55 pounds and repeatedly move 165 pounds safely.
- Problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve minor mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Comfortable working in noisy, wet conditions, and a range of temperatures.
- Capable of standing for 8 to 10 hours per shift.
- Flexibility to work irregular schedules as needed.
- Experience working safely around hazardous materials and forklifts.
- Previous warehouse or packaging experience is advantageous.
