  • Prepare patients and exam rooms before physician consultations, ensuring smooth patient throughput.
  • Accurately record details of patient visits, treatment plans, and physician-patient discussions during the examination.
  • Assist physicians during clinical examinations and minor procedures.
  • Maintain sterility standards and coordinate necessary testing and surgical arrangements.
  • Communicate follow-up instructions from physicians to patients and referring medical providers.
  • Support clinical operations by assisting with patient phone inquiries, pharmacy interactions, and general administrative tasks.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • At least one year of prior experience as an ophthalmic scribe.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) software systems.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, medications, diagnostic equipment, as well as CPT and ICD-10 coding standards.

  • Certification in ophthalmic scribing is favorable but not mandatory.

Skills and Competencies

  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Proven track record of high-quality work and achievements in related fields.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Capability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word.

Employee Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Paid time off and recognized holidays.
  • Employee discounts and program for certification reimbursement.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
