About the Role

The Operations Training, Competence & Standards Manager leads the creation, implementation, and oversight of the company's operational competence framework. This includes the training strategy, operational standards, and ensuring consistent application of the Rule Book to maintain a capable and professional railway workforce throughout all stages of operational readiness and commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the operational competence management system, including setting competency standards and assessment protocols for safety-critical roles across train, network, and infrastructure operations.
  • Establish certification, licensing, and reassessment procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
  • Design and execute the operational training strategy, encompassing needs analysis, curriculum development, and courses delivered via classroom, simulation, and on-the-job training.

  • Lead Rule Book adoption, training, and operational standard development, ensuring procedures remain current and well communicated.
