Operations Support Specialist NF-04

Position Overview and Core Duties

This role is responsible for enforcing technical safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and risk management, and ensuring compliance with safety standards including OSHA and Department of Defense (DOD) protocols across various operations. Key tasks include ongoing collaboration with Occupational Health and Installation Safety Officers, advising management on accident and fire prevention strategies, and executing Composite Risk Management procedures. The specialist will also oversee the annual safety audit and subsequent remediation actions, maintain regular Risk Assessment and Management (RAM) measures, and actively participate in the Force Protection and Anti-Terrorism Working Groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply and maintain technical safety codes and risk management strategies for diverse operational environments.
• Consult with Occupational Health and safety leadership regarding safety concerns when required.
• Guide supervisors and managers on accident and fire prevention protocols.
• Perform Composite Risk Management and coordinate annual safety inspections addressing identified issues.
• Ensure risk assessment measures are implemented monthly and contribute to relevant security working groups.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Applicants must provide Direct Deposit and Social Security Card documentation.
• Meet specified qualification, eligibility, and background screening criteria.
• A one-year probationary period might be applicable.
• Availability to work outside typical duty hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, emergency callback, and special duty assignments.
• Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Demonstrated progressive experience in implementing safety codes, risk management and compliance with OSHA and DOD safety standards.
• Expertise in fire prevention, industrial safety, hygiene, and health communication.
• Consultative experience with Occupational Health and Installation Safety departments.
• Providing advisory support to management concerning accident and fire prevention.
• Execution and management of physical and personnel security programs.
• Completion of FEMA online courses within six months of employment is required.

Highly desired candidates possess familiarity with OSHA regulations, Operational Security (OPSEC), Anti-Terrorism levels 1 and 2, Force Protection, and JPAS systems.
