Job Overview
Join Amazon's global operations network delivering millions of packages daily by becoming an Operations Manager. In this leadership position based in Torrance, CA, you will guide and develop both salaried and hourly staff to uphold excellent standards in safety, quality, attendance, and overall performance during their shifts. Your role requires equipping your team with essential resources while driving productivity and efficiency improvements through analytical, data-based solutions. Ensuring timely and accurate customer deliveries remains a central focus.
Operations Workflow
The operations process involves three key stages: the first mile, where products are stored and prepared for orders; the middle mile, involving transportation to your area; and the last mile, which encompasses delivering the product to customers' doorsteps. Although site specifics may vary, our commitment to customer satisfaction remains consistent.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, support, and motivation to your team comprising salaried and hourly employees.
- Lead projects with significant impact at site and regional levels.
- Develop and implement productivity strategies through reviewing forecasts, setting targets, and collaborating with leadership to balance workloads.
- Oversee compliance with safety norms, quality benchmarks, productivity goals, and customer delivery commitments.
- Coordinate efforts with support teams such as Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to align business objectives.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 49 pounds, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching frequently during shifts.
- Maintain physical endurance to stand or walk for up to 12 hours in varying noise and weather conditions, including outdoor loading areas.
- Climb and descend stairs regularly as applicable to the site.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing employee performance.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, or alternatively, at least 2 years of experience working at Amazon as a full-time employee.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience with performance metrics, process improvements, or lean methodologies.

Compensation & Benefits
The position offers a base salary ranging from 91,000 to 136,500 USD annually, supplemented by sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs).
