Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate both basic and specialized machine tools for precision machining tasks.
  • Perform machining of parts according to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, and similar equipment.
  • Align and securely mount fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, and materials onto machinery.
  • Monitor machine feed rates and speeds throughout the machining process to ensure quality.
  • Keep machine tools in optimal working order through routine maintenance.
  • Ensure workpieces are properly lubricated or cooled during operations.
  • Diagnose machine malfunctions to assess if adjustments or repairs are necessary.
  • Measure, lay out, and mark metal stock indicating cutting positions.
  • Assemble or repair machine tool parts as required.
  • Set up or work with metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, or cutting equipment.
  • Support metalworking projects from initial planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, applying knowledge of machine functions, metal properties, and mathematics.
  • Sort scrap and waste materials for reuse, recycling, or proper disposal.
  • Assess machining methods and recommend improvements for efficiency or adaptability.
  • Dismantle machines or equipment using hand or power tools to check parts for defects and replace faulty components.
  • Install repaired or new parts into machinery.
  • Adhere to safety, environmental policies, legal regulations, and objectives applicable to the role.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ technical experience, ideally in heavy equipment manufacturing or machinery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business aspects at technical and commercial levels.
  • Understanding of engineering products, equipment, customer requirements, and relevant processes.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute instructions effectively.
  • Strong skill set aligned with the competency profile specified.
  • Team-oriented with cooperative spirit.
  • Good interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
  • Organized with capable coordination and communication abilities.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and integrity.
