Role Overview
Join our London-based newsroom as a Multimedia Journalist, working part-time (14 hours per week) from our Blackfriars office on a permanent contract. The role involves working shifts between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, including one weekend per month with time off in lieu (TOIL) provided. Reporting directly to the News Editor, this mid-level position demands a quick-thinking storyteller capable of producing engaging, multi-platform content across radio, digital, and print. Responsibilities include creating news and current affairs reports, conducting interviews, and contributing to special features, while upholding stringent editorial, legal, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver compelling news content for broadcast and digital channels.
- Identify and pursue original story angles, responding promptly to breaking news.
- Produce radio bulletins, interviews, written articles, and special reports.
- Assist in setting the daily editorial agenda and planning future content.
- Ensure all editorial output complies with legal requirements, Ofcom standards, and internal policies.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience in journalism across broadcast, print or digital media, with a strong portfolio.
- Excellent news judgement and writing skills tailored for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Proven ability to independently source, verify, and develop stories.
- Confident interviewing skills with senior figures and able to perform well under tight deadlines.
- Sound understanding of media law, editorial compliance, and Ofcom regulations.
- A personal Christian faith is a mandatory occupational requirement, along with a solid understanding and appreciation of the Christian faith and Church to authentically represent Premier's voice.
Additional Information
- The role offers a salary of £12,200 for 14 hours per week, equivalent to £30,500 if full-time.
