Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

Overview

Infosys is hiring for a Microsoft Fabric role focused on data engineering and analytics delivery within the Azure ecosystem. The position is based in Hyderabad, India and sits within the Data Analytics service line. Candidates from the specified educational backgrounds are preferred, and any graduate may apply.

What you will do

• Design and deliver data solutions on Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Power BI components.
• Create, run, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
• Work with Azure subscription services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Synapse-related components inside Fabric.
• Write and fine-tune SQL queries and support data model development.
• Carry out transformations through Notebooks using PySpark or Python, along with Dataflows Gen2.
• Apply Fabric features to strengthen data quality, governance, and security.
• Bring together data from APIs, databases, files, and streaming sources.
• Partner with business and analytics teams to produce reporting solutions.
• Track pipeline health and resolve performance or operational issues.

Additional responsibilities and preferences

• Exposure to Power BI for reporting and visualisation is expected or advantageous.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows in Azure DevOps is preferred.
• Knowledge of governance, security, and access control in data platforms is valuable.
• Familiarity with real-time or streaming pipelines will be an advantage.
• Understanding of Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture is preferred.

Technical requirements

• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, especially Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Data Factory.
• Strong command of SQL and query performance tuning.
• Exposure to the Azure stack, including ADLS, Azure SQL, and Synapse or ADF concepts.
• Working knowledge of data engineering patterns such as ETL/ELT, pipelines, and orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark, Python, and Notebooks.
• Understanding of data modelling and analytics architecture.

Preferred educational backgrounds include Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Applications, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Technology. Any graduate can also apply.
