Role Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Doha-based team full-time and on-site. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical systems and equipment related to gas and energy projects. Ensuring compliance with safety standards, local regulations, and company requirements is crucial. Duties include preparing and updating technical drawings and calculations, aiding installation and commissioning processes, conducting inspections, troubleshooting for reliable operation, and working closely with project managers, civil and electrical engineers, operations teams, suppliers, and contractors. The engineer will also engage in initiatives for continuous improvement, sustainability-oriented design, and documentation for technical projects and tenders.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and mechanical design.
- Proficiency in engineering software like CAD and CAE applications including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalents, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong skills in project coordination encompassing planning, scheduling, documentation, and multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations relevant to gas, energy, and industrial installations, emphasizing risk management and compliance.
- Excellent communication abilities in both verbal and written forms, capable of effectively conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required. Prior experience in gas, energy, or industrial projects is advantageous.
- Additional desirable skills include site supervision, commissioning, maintenance experience, awareness of sustainability practices, fluent English, and Arabic language skills as a plus.
