About Vili's Family Bakery
Vili's Family Bakery is a celebrated South Australian family-owned business with over five decades of experience producing Australia's favorite pies and cakes. The team is central to the bakery's success, and they are currently seeking experienced meat processors proficient in knife skills to contribute to producing top-quality baked products.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cut, dice, and mince meat according to specific recipes, excluding breaking down beef carcasses.
- Maintain sharp knives and ensure safe handling practices at all times.
- Adhere to quality control protocols and meat processing standards, including completing basic documentation and records.
- Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety compliance throughout the work process.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet scheduling targets and reduce waste.
- Safely undertake manual tasks such as lifting, staging, sanitizing, and thorough cleaning at the end of shifts.
Candidate Profile
- Available to work Monday to Friday starting at 5:00 am.
- Demonstrated experience in meat preparation involving cutting, dicing, and mincing.
- Competent in knife sharpening and maintenance.
- Good grasp of quality control and meat processing standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capable of working autonomously and effectively within teams.
- Physically fit to manage the job's demands safely.
- Committed to safety with adherence to WHS practices.
- Thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced work setting.
- Certification in Meat Processing (Certificate II or III) is beneficial but not mandatory.
Employment Details
- Working hours consist of a Monday to Friday schedule beginning at 5 am, totaling 38 hours weekly with occasional overtime.
- The role offers ongoing casual employment with a view to potential permanent status.
