Material Handler

About the Role

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific in Singapore as a Material Handler and contribute to global health and safety initiatives. You will play an essential role in providing materials and equipment that aid scientists and medical professionals worldwide in their vital work, from cancer research to patient care.

Work Schedule and Environment

• Standard workweek: Monday to Friday
• Work environment includes warehouse settings and cold storage rooms at -22°F (-6°C)
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) mandatory, including safety glasses, gowns, gloves, lab coats, and earplugs
• Involves handling hazardous or toxic materials and working at heights
• Physical requirement to lift up to 40 lbs unaided

Main Responsibilities

• Manage store operations such as picking, packing, and storing materials and parts, including data entry and cycle count support
• Cross-train across various Distribution and other functions to enhance operational flexibility and capacity
• Pick and pack finished products and accessories, accurately receive, check, count, and store materials per work instructions
• Issue materials to end users or production based on purchase orders or requisitions
• Authorize cargo release to forwarders and maintain 5S workplace organization standards
• Support documentation filing and inventory cycle counts
• Engage actively in ISO, EHS, 5S, and QSR activities ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards
• Maintain adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, QSR 21CFR, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and WHO GDP requirements

Preferred Competencies

• Good physical health with no medical restrictions
• High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
• Team-oriented mindset with ability to work independently and solve problems swiftly
• Proficient reading and writing skills in English
• Familiarity with storekeeping practices
• Valid forklift operator license
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with SAP or Oracle systems considered an advantage
