Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician works under the supervision of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer as part of the Operations team in Carrigaline, Ireland. This role focuses on supporting and maintaining equipment and processes involved in producing high-reliability electronic circuit cards and complete system assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily support and upkeep for SMT, PTH, and system assembly machines and manufacturing procedures within the electronics production facility.
• Monitor and improve yield in SMT, PTH, and system assembly processes by identifying and resolving quality issues.
• Ensure all equipment, including SMT, PTH, preparation, conformal coating, packaging, torque drivers, laser marking, aqueous cleaning, inspection, and production machinery, is maintained safely, with preventive maintenance schedules followed to maximise uptime.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product, and Design Engineers during New Product Introductions to manage timely procurement of stencils, jigs, fixtures, and programming for SMT, PTH, inspection, and systems equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot computer-controlled manufacturing machines.
• Select, order, and manage spare parts stock for equipment maintenance.
• Participate in lean product flow optimization, process improvements, new equipment installations, and additive manufacturing initiatives alongside engineers and team leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and parts storage areas.
• Train technicians and operators as needed.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies, regulations, and on-site risk assessments.
• Travel to support equipment selection and assist other Moog sites corporation-wide when required.
• Demonstrate flexibility to undertake additional tasks as assigned and work with a continuous lean mindset aimed at waste elimination and process efficiency.
• Lead operational decision-making during shifts to sustain productivity and throughput, especially in scenarios covering three 12-hour days including potential weekends.

Candidate Experience and Qualifications

• Over two years of experience in a certified electronics manufacturing environment with practical application of Lean principles and contribution to improvement projects.
• Qualified trades personnel with relevant industrial experience will also be considered.
• Level 6 educational certification in fields such as Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical Automation, Technology, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.

The ideal candidate is an independent problem solver capable of working with minimal supervision, quickly adapting to dynamic production priorities, and focusing on both immediate operational continuity and long-term continuous improvement initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills are important for collaboration with team members, and flexibility to work overtime or shifts is required.
