Manufacturing Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee and lead the assembly operations of packaging machines and automation equipment at our Ahmedabad facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring quality production, meeting delivery targets, and maintaining operational excellence through effective team leadership and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assembly operations for packaging and automation machinery ensuring adherence to production quality, productivity, cost, and delivery standards.
• Monitor assembly progress, identify and resolve bottlenecks promptly to maintain smooth workflow.
• Oversee all machine assembly phases from material receipt to ready-for-delivery status.
• Optimize allocation and utilization of manpower, equipment, and resources across assembly lines.
• Collaborate closely with departments such as Design, Planning, Procurement, Stores, Quality Assurance, and Service teams for smooth project execution.
• Ensure on-time customer order completion and production schedule compliance.
• Track and address material shortages proactively with supply chain coordination to avoid production delays.
• Drive compliance with quality standards, assembly protocols, and First-Time-Right practices; implement corrective and preventive actions based on quality analyses.
• Lead factory trials, machine testing, and Factory Acceptance Tests prior to dispatch to guarantee meeting customer specifications and quality benchmarks.
• Lead, mentor, and develop assembly supervisors, fitters, technicians, and operators, fostering a culture emphasizing accountability and continuous improvement.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, Kaizen, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Standardize assembly workflows, documentation, and best practices for improved efficiency.
• Work towards reduction of cycle time, rework, wastage, and elimination of non-value-added activities.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, legal regulations, and company Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
• Conduct safety audits, facilitate toolbox talks, and promote safe practices on the shop floor.
• Monitor and enhance manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production achievement, on-time delivery, assembly cycle time, rework and rejection rates, employee productivity, and safety performance.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive MIS reports, production reviews, and operational updates to senior management.

Preferred Industry Background

• Experience in Packaging Machinery Manufacturing
• Exposure to Special Purpose Machine (SPM) industry
• Background in Automation Equipment Manufacturing
• Familiarity with Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, or Industrial Machinery sectors
