About the Role
This position leads clinical administration for a tertiary care hospital, with a strong focus on admissions, billing, insurance coordination, patient service processes, and front-office operations. The role calls for an experienced hospital administration professional who can improve operational controls, support service quality, and ensure policy compliance across multiple patient-facing functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and strengthen clinical protocols and operating controls for admission, billing, and insurance workflows.
- Address patient and family escalations related to clinical administration and hospital policies, and drive satisfactory closure.
- Supervise the day-to-day functioning of Admissions, the TPA desk, the Executive Health Checkup unit, and the Call Centre.
- Manage TPA authorizations, supporting paperwork, and insurance claim handling.
- Track call centre efficiency across appointment scheduling, inquiry handling, and patient follow-up activities.
- Resolve patient complaints within agreed timelines.
- Work closely with clinical, billing, and support teams to keep service delivery smooth and coordinated.
- Coach, guide, and assess front office team members.
- Ensure adherence to hospital rules, statutory requirements, and accreditation standards.
Candidate Profile
The hospital is looking for a senior, energetic professional with 10+ years of experience in hospital administration and proven leadership exposure in Admissions, TPA, Billing, Executive Health Checkup, Call Centre, and Front Office operations in a tertiary care setup.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a medical degree such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, or BHMS, along with a postgraduate degree in Hospital Management or an MBA in Hospital/Healthcare Management.
- Capability to lead teams effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication, along with interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of operational and billing policies.
- Basic understanding of data analytics, MIS, and SQL queries.
- Good grasp of hospital front-office workflows and patient movement.
- Service-oriented approach with sound problem-solving ability.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and suggest process improvements.
- Comfortable handling escalations and high-pressure situations.
- Hands-on familiarity with Hospital Information Systems and call centre software/tools.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a medical qualification in any of the following streams: BHMS, BAMS, BNYS, or MBBS, and must also possess a master’s degree in Hospital Management or an MBA in Hospital/Healthcare Management.
