Role overview
The Line Maintenance Manager will oversee aircraft line maintenance activities to ensure every task is completed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role is based at CHQ Gurgaon within the Engineering function and reports to the Accountable Manager.
This position is focused on maintaining aircraft availability and airworthiness while meeting DGCA CAR-145 requirements.
What you will do
- Lead the planning, supervision, and execution of line maintenance work, including troubleshooting, defect rectification, component changes, and small scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Make sure all maintenance is carried out using approved procedures, current technical information, and established safety and quality practices.
- Allocate licensed certifying staff appropriately across shifts and line stations based on operational needs.
- Manage shift transitions and task handovers with attention to fatigue control and human-factors best practices.
- Confirm that the necessary tools, equipment, and support facilities are available and serviceable.
- Ensure all maintenance records are completed accurately, including work cards, task documentation, aircraft technical log entries, and Certificates of Release to Service (CRS).
- Build and maintain a strong safety culture, with timely reporting and closure of safety-related issues.
- Carry out corrective actions for findings from internal audits and regulatory inspections related to line maintenance.
- Work closely with operators/CAMO, compliance and safety teams, and regulatory authorities whenever needed.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering qualification or an equivalent technical degree. A minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience is required, including at least 2 years specifically in line maintenance operations. Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
