Overview
State Representative Leonard Spencer seeks a Legislative Aide for the Winter Garden, Florida office, to assist with administrative and public relations tasks that require a strong grasp of Florida Legislature’s policies and procedures. This role demands onsite presence and offers a competitive annual salary of $47,364 along with benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of House Rules, Protocol, House-specific Applications, and Legislative administrative policies.
- Manage calendars and scheduling for legislative activities.
- Handle constituent relations and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct legislative research and monitor the legislative process.
- Prepare public relations materials such as press releases.
- Serve as designated legislative staff in Tallahassee during committee weeks, sessions, and manage travel arrangements.
- Complete mandatory assigned training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree with two years administrative experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Equivalent professional administrative experience can substitute education on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Information
Employment requires filing Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire as per sections 112.3144 and 112.3145, F.S.
