Lead Software Engineer

About the role

This position is for a senior engineering leader who will shape and deliver robust backend platforms that are secure, scalable, and production-ready. The role is highly hands-on, combining technical ownership with leadership, and includes close collaboration with Product and other cross-functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop dependable backend services that are designed for testing, reliability, and production use.
• Make architectural choices and take responsibility for features from initial design through delivery.
• Produce clear, maintainable code backed by solid automated test coverage.
• Guide and coach engineers while establishing strong engineering standards and working practices.
• Monitor system health, handle incident response, and improve development and operational workflows.
• Work closely with teams across the business and support hiring activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of backend development experience, including 4+ years working with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Cognito, S3, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, and CloudFormation.
• Practical knowledge of serverless systems, microservices, and event-driven design patterns.
• Strong command of test-driven development, CI/CD pipelines, REST and GraphQL APIs, and secure coding practices.
• Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Prior experience in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment is preferred.
