Role Overview
The Laboratory Solution Specialist provides in-depth technical expertise and consultative support during the sales process, tailoring solutions to laboratory workflows. This position, reporting to the Head of Solution & Design UK & Ireland, operates remotely covering both Ireland and UK regions as part of the Sales Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with customers to analyze their laboratory needs and challenges, utilizing a value-driven sales approach to translate needs into defined demands.
- Design customized laboratory solutions by recommending appropriate analyzers, procedures, and assays that align with customer objectives.
- Incorporate third-party innovations as needed and clearly communicate solution benefits through both individual and group presentations.
- Emphasize the importance of addressing customer needs promptly while distinguishing our Automation and Workflow IT Solutions using clear metrics and unique selling points.
- Work hand-in-hand with the Ireland and UK sales teams, ensuring solutions align with sales strategies and providing the necessary product guidance for effective sales pitches.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of laboratory automation, chemistry, and immunoassay technologies to stay current with industry trends and product offerings.
- Provide training and ongoing support to both customers and sales personnel regarding the application of laboratory solutions.
Professional Requirements
- Possess at least three years of clinical laboratory experience within HSE Pathology laboratories or commercial environments.
- Hold a BMS Qualification or an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Be familiar with business management systems including CAD software.
- Have experience with automation in HSE laboratories.
- Be able and willing to travel mostly within Ireland, with occasional visits to other regions as needed, up to 70% travel including overnight stays.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing automation solutions for NHS/HSE laboratories.
- Experience preparing responses to technical tenders.
- Commercial experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
