Job Overview
The Lab Technician plays a critical role in verifying that all raw materials, intermediate, and finished goods comply with established quality and safety benchmarks before they are approved for release.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control testing by sampling and analyzing products during production for parameters such as pH, weight, moisture content, chemical composition, and microbial presence.
- Support production activities through in-process inspections, release or hold decisions on batches, and assisting in resolving quality-related issues alongside the production team.
- Maintain accurate documentation by recording test outcomes in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or Excel, preparing Certificates of Analysis (COAs), batch records, and logs.
- Ensure laboratory operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) by calibrating instruments, preparing reagents, overseeing reagent and supply inventory, and upkeeping a compliant laboratory environment.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including GMP, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards, and promptly report any deviations or non-conformances.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a closely related discipline.
- Proficiency in quality control techniques and laboratory equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform fast and accurate testing.
- Competence in using MS Excel and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for documenting results.
- Familiarity with GMP regulations and their application in laboratory settings.
- Willingness to work shifts in a manufacturing plant environment.
