Role overview

Tata Consultancy Services is looking for a Lab SME to support enterprise lab informatics initiatives. This position is based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, with a broader job location scope across Pan India. The role is suited to experienced professionals who can architect and guide complex technology solutions in healthcare and life sciences.

What you'll do

• Lead solutioning and architecture design for intricate systems, drawing on at least 8 years of hands-on experience in similar architecture-focused roles.
• Build and shape software approaches that solve challenging business problems while meeting customer technical needs.
• Act as a technical leader for development teams and ensure solutions follow architectural standards and engineering best practices.
• Assess a customer's current enterprise landscape and evaluate how each system affects overall performance and functionality.

Domain and technical focus

• Work within the lab informatics ecosystem, including lab workflows, data handling, and regulatory compliance expectations.
• Bring familiarity with major product areas such as LIMS, ELN, Benchling, Empower, and related lab platforms.
• Use scripting and programming skills, including Python and Oracle PL/SQL, along with exposure to cloud technologies.
• Apply strong knowledge of strategic IT solutions and software delivery practices in SDLC and Agile environments.
• Support technology delivery in the healthcare and life sciences domain.

Experience

This role requires 8 to 16 years of relevant experience. It is not an entry-level opening.

Location

Primary location is Kolkata, West Bengal, India, and the opportunity is also described as open across Pan India.
