Kitchen Porter / Housekeeping Assistant

Role Overview

We are seeking a dependable, diligent, and proactive Kitchen Porter / Housekeeping Assistant to become part of our team at a busy cooking school. This practical, hands-on position is vital to maintaining the orderly operation of our kitchens and educational areas. The successful applicant will ensure that kitchens, classrooms, and common spaces are consistently clean and that all necessary equipment and materials for each class are prepared and available.

Main Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen apparatus thoroughly.
• Keep the kitchen environment hygienic and tidy throughout the day.
• Help set up and dismantle teaching kitchens before and after sessions.
• Dispose of waste properly by emptying bins following food safety regulations.
• Assist chefs and instructors with general kitchen duties as needed.
• Adhere strictly to all guidelines related to food hygiene, health and safety, and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness in demonstration areas, eating areas, and shared spaces.
• Oversee the upkeep of visitor facilities, including restrooms.
• Restock cleaning materials, toiletries, and other supplies as necessary.
• Ensure floors, countertops, windows, and all surfaces are spotless and well-maintained.
• Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for students, guests, and staff alike.
