Role Overview

This position supports daily network operations under supervision, ensuring seamless network maintenance and efficient execution of network-related activities while achieving service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain network tools and equipment integral to fiber infrastructure.
  • Assist with and carry out installations as needed.
  • Maintain routine daily site activities to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Work proactively to meet and uphold SLA standards.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of fiber networks including Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP), and infrastructure components.
  • Manage fiber network backbone and last mile connectivity, coordinate off-role and vendor teams, and utilize fiber testing tools such as OTDR and power meters.
  • Support transmission equipment involving SDH and DWDM technologies, ensure equipment hygiene, and manage spare inventory.
  • Maintain infrastructure elements such as SMPS, battery banks, and comply with preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety processes, and company compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyze faults in OSP, ISP, and infrastructure networks reported by the TCL NOC.
  • Implement preventive measures to minimize fiber cuts and corrective actions to restore OFC lines within SLA limits.
  • Manage spare card inventory and maintain Point of Presence (POP) hygiene along with infrastructure maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with various operators, government agencies, and private sector authorities to facilitate operations.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecom, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering (preferably B.Tech).
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years in telecom, ideally in transmission or access network operations.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC), SDH, DWDM technologies, and practical experience with transmission equipment from vendors such as ECI, Tejas, Huawei, and CIENA.
  • Proficient in usage of fiber optic tools like splicing machines, OTDR, laser sources, and power meters.
  • Strong grounding in power and infrastructure systems.
  • Established problem-solving abilities and experience in providing technical support within high-availability, round-the-clock environments.
  • Familiarity with network and operating systems is advantageous.
