Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Business Risk Analyst to assist with business risk management activities at our Melbourne location. The successful candidate will support various risk and control functions including operational reviews, supervisory controls evaluation, and providing advice to front office teams and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in performing risk and control related tasks for the location business risk management.
- Review operational and supervisory controls, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Provide support and guidance to the front office and stakeholders on risk matters.
- Collect and consolidate key risk indicators and statistics for reporting purposes based on regional metrics.
- Facilitate consensus among stakeholders regarding new or revised control procedures when required.
- Support audit requests and monitor closure of outstanding audit items.
- Conduct supervised ad hoc reviews and contribute to projects ensuring implementation of business risk initiatives.
About the Team
This role operates within the Business Risk Organisation (BRO) in the Wealth Management division. The BRO teams support front office objectives by managing risk within wealth management services offered to clients in Australia.
Candidate Profile
- Excellent communication skills capable of engaging with front office, compliance, and management stakeholders.
- Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Sound independent judgment combined with strong analytical skills.
- A proactive mindset with a high degree of ownership, creativity, and eagerness to learn.
- Experience in audit, regulatory, banking, or risk environments is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, commerce, or related discipline is required.
- Curiosity and aptitude for exploring AI applications in workflow development and optimization while ensuring compliance with policies and ethical standards.
