Job Overview
The Janitorial Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout assigned locations. Key duties include cleaning hard floors, vacuuming carpets, dusting, sanitizing washrooms and kitchenettes, and handling waste and recycling.
Work Schedule
This role follows a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with weekend shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster an inclusive and productive work environment encouraging innovation and teamwork.
- Develop strong working relationships through active listening and clear communication.
- Engage in all mandatory training sessions.
- Comply with all company-mandated health and safety regulations.
- Sweep, dry mop, wash, and buff floors and stairwells using both manual and powered floor cleaning equipment.
- Vacuum carpets and mats in offices and communal areas, perform daily spot cleaning, and shampoo carpets when required.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on floor cleaning equipment, vacuums, scrubbers, and buffers.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins, replace liners, and transport waste to designated collection points.
- Thoroughly clean washrooms and kitchen/kitchenettes including disinfecting and polishing fixtures, appliances, and surfaces.
- Restock consumables like toilet paper, hand towels, soap, and sanitizer.
- Spot clean walls, doors, and other vertical surfaces to remove marks and smudges.
- Clean elevators when applicable.
- Monitor facility maintenance concerns such as clogged urinals or lighting issues.
- Perform high dusting and wall washing tasks.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to follow instructions and operate effectively with minimal supervision within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality service, excellent organization, and physical stamina.
- Familiarity with cleaning tools and equipment operation.
- Experience using automatic floor scrubbers is advantageous.
- Dependable with reliable transportation to work sites.
- Previous janitorial work in food court settings is a plus.
- Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check.
