Role overview

The Passport Work and Travel Services Limited is hiring an International Program Coordinator to oversee and grow its cultural exchange and education-focused offerings. The coordinator will support the company’s Bridge USA J1 portfolio, including Summer Work & Travel, Camp Counselor, and Intern/Trainee programs, as well as the Carib Student brand, which connects students and professionals with international study abroad and career development opportunities.

Core duties

  • Handle the complete journey for each applicant, from first enquiry and sign-up through screening, document collection, and final deployment.
  • Track program steps and verify that J1 applicants meet required conditions such as full-time student status and a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Manage the Carib Student matching process and connect candidates with partner universities in Canada, the USA, Dubai, Germany, and Turkey.
  • Prepare, review, arrange, and submit required files such as status letters, digital visa photographs, background checks, and financial evidence.
  • Work directly with US J1 sponsors and overseas university admissions teams to coordinate placements and monitor approval progress.
  • Maintain adherence to Jamaican Ministry of Labour requirements and all relevant visa and embassy regulations.
  • Interview and pre-screen candidates to assess English ability, maturity, and ties to Jamaica.
  • Run pre-departure orientation sessions and guide clients through U.S. and Canadian embassy interview processes.
  • Provide clear, dependable customer service that supports the company’s mission of rebuilding confidence in travel services.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or another closely related discipline.
  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in recruitment, travel services, visa coordination, or customer support operations.
  • Previous participation in a J1 or study abroad program is considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to give precise, professional guidance.
  • Comfort working with digital systems, online tracking tools, databases, and electronic documentation.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage several student groups and deadlines at the same time.
