Inspector - Infrastructure and Sewerage

About the Role

KN International is seeking a qualified Inspector specialized in infrastructure and sewerage projects based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This full-time position focuses on overseeing construction works to ensure they comply with project plans, local laws, and industry standards. The successful candidate will bring expertise in site inspections, quality assurance, and contractor liaison within the UAE construction sector.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough on-site inspections to verify that all activities meet the approved designs, specifications, and regulatory criteria.
• Supervise contractor operations ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Carry out quality checks of materials, workmanship, and construction techniques employed onsite.
• Review Inspection Requests (IRs) from contractors and provide prompt evaluations and feedback.
• Document daily site activities, inspection outcomes, and instances of non-compliance with accuracy.
• Detect deficiencies and prepare reports, collaborating with relevant parties to implement corrective measures.
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve any site-related challenges.
• Inspect specific sewerage infrastructure tasks including excavation, bedding, pipe laying, compaction, and backfilling.
• Support the review of contractor submissions such as method statements and risk assessments.
• Participate in progress meetings, furnishing updates on construction progress, risks, and quality control issues.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in infrastructure and sewerage sector projects.
• In-depth knowledge of civil construction methodologies including material testing and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks governing projects.
• Proven experience in inspection procedures and project documentation for infrastructure works.
• Holding TAQA WS (SWS/ADSSC) approvals is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, multicultural, fast-paced environment.
