Role Overview
Join Layam Flexi Solutions as an Inprocess Quality Engineer, working at our Chennai location to ensure product quality within manufacturing processes through comprehensive inspections and quality control practices aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections during manufacturing stages following Control Plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform initial sample checks, ongoing patrol inspections, and final product verifications.
- Utilize measurement tools including Vernier calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Dial Gauges effectively.
- Detect, document, and report defects and deviations from quality requirements.
- Contribute to quality management activities such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and 8D problem-solving methodology.
- Review customer feedback and quality reports for analytical investigations; assist Root Cause Analysis and corrective action plans.
- Maintain thorough inspection records and quality documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering teams to address and resolve quality-related concerns.
- Ensure adherence to IATF 16949 standards, established quality protocols, and workplace organization practices like 5S.
Skills and Knowledge
- Understand quality inspection processes and read engineering drawings.
- Basic familiarity with quality planning and control tools: PPAP, APQP, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and 8D methodology.
- Competent with various measuring instruments used in quality inspections.
- Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or related Electrical/Electronics fields.
