Role Overview

Located in Auckland, this full-time on-site technician position involves installing, servicing, and repairing various air conditioning and refrigeration units. Responsibilities encompass fault diagnosis, part replacement, system commissioning, routine preventative maintenance, assessing system functions, compiling service documentation, and relaying insights and advice to clients and team members. The technician must manage breakdowns promptly, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical challenges, and adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards. Independent and collaborative work is expected, with occasional after-hours emergency call responses.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a relevant trade qualification or completed apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or air conditioning, alongside necessary local certifications or licensing.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and diagnosing faults in commercial and/or residential refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to HVAC and refrigeration, including safe refrigerant handling.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and manuals, with effective use of diagnostic devices and measurement instruments.
  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines, complying with local laws and company regulations.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for client and team interactions, with accuracy in service reporting.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities to independently handle multiple tasks daily.
  • Valid driver's license appropriate for local travel and readiness to work on-site throughout the Auckland area.
