VISHWAS OVERSEAS is looking for an HR Manager to oversee human resources and administrative operations for its foundry and CNC machine shop in Ambala, near Baldev Nagar, Ambala City. The position reports to the Director / Plant Head and is focused on building an effective workforce, maintaining compliance, supporting employee relations, and strengthening HR systems that align with plant objectives.

Core responsibilities

  • Work with department heads to assess manpower needs and plan staffing across the organisation.
  • Hire skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled employees for Foundry, CNC Machine Shop, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Administration.
  • Conduct interviews, manage candidate selection, and handle joining formalities, onboarding, and induction.
  • Keep manpower budgets updated and aligned with operational needs.
  • Track attendance and shift schedules on a daily basis.
  • Support payroll preparation with Accounts by checking overtime, leave, and attendance data.
  • Ensure salary processing happens on time and maintain complete employee personal records.
  • Oversee compliance with labour and employment laws such as the Factories Act, Industrial Relations Code, EPF, ESI, Payment of Wages Act, Bonus Act, Gratuity Act, Minimum Wages, and applicable contract labour and shop establishment requirements.
  • Support statutory inspections and keep all registers and compliance records up to date.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and respond to grievances quickly and fairly.
  • Provide counselling where needed and encourage discipline and rule adherence.
  • Handle disciplinary matters according to company policy.
  • Run performance management activities, including appraisals, probation confirmations, reviews, promotions, transfers, and corrective action support.
  • Help department heads define performance goals and review achievement.
  • Identify training needs and organise technical, behavioural, safety, and induction training programmes.
  • Track training records and evaluate how effective the training has been.

  • Keep employee information confidential and properly maintained.
  • Support industrial relations activities, including shop-floor issue resolution, discussions with labour authorities, and dispute handling assistance.
  • Manage employee welfare programmes such as canteen, transport, uniforms, PPE distribution, health check-ups, recognition, and engagement activities.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Officer for legal compliance, safety awareness, safety training, and accident investigations.
  • Supervise housekeeping, security, visitor entry, gate control, office administration, facility coordination, and vendor services.
  • Conduct exit interviews, process resignations, complete full and final settlements, maintain separation records, and study attrition patterns.

Qualifications and experience

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, or Labour Welfare is required.
  • A master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing setup is required.
  • Experience in Foundry, CNC Machine Shop, Engineering, or Automobile industries is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of labour laws, factory operations, and industrial relations is expected.
